This beautiful antique Victorian 9ct Gold floral Suffragette pendant is Circa 1900.

Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking! Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!

The wonderful pendant is adorned with a central violet Amethyst, a green Peridot dropper and decorated in lovely cream Pearls.

Amethyst has been highly esteemed throughout the ages for its stunning beauty which has adorned regal jewellery all around the world, from ancient Egypt to the British crown jewels.

The Peridot is a stone of lightness and beauty and was believed to be a stone of springtime by ancients who considered it a gift from Mother Nature.

The pendant is set in 9ct Yellow Gold and complete with 9ct hallmark on the reverse.

This is a wonderful piece of Suffragette history, an eye catching piece that would look beautiful displayed on a Gold chain!
